97 Cavalier Anti Theft Bypass. Passlock is an immobilizer introduced by GM in many mid-to-late 1990s vehiclesImmobilizers are electronic security device fitted to an automobile that prevents the engine from running unless the correct key or token is present Well Passlock should be called the Great Immobilizer because not only does it stop thieves with no keys it also stops owners with the right keys. Ive been given the advice to do a VATS Bypass - Anti theft bypass on my 97 Cavalier. Does the engine crank over but wont start an run. Typical alarms use a relay to interrupt the starter circuit.
I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier. This is caused from loose wireing or a loose console. I need to bypass the anti teft on my 99 cavalier we thought it was the ignition and changed it now we just want to unhook the anti theft. Easiest thing to do is disable the anti-theft. The responses I am receiving are becoming rude. I spent many time with a dealer to have them never figure this out.
Your anti-theft system can malfunction for a number of reasons and sometimes you need to be able to disable it.

I do have to give Chevy props because they have a system that actually disables the car. It can disable the starter andor the injectorsfuel. Okay so we had to replace the ignition recently on my cavalier and after we did that it wont start. I have posted other questions about my car on here and now Im sure this may be the problem.
